Razer’s latest BlackWidow V4 Low-Profile keyboards are nearly the size of a coin πŸͺ™

Razer have thrown their BlackWidow keyboards into the hydraulic press to give us a new ultra-slim product line, still feature-rich to deliver top-tier performance in two wireless form factors, with the usual suite of controls, plus some new additions.

For top-tier gaming in low-profile, the go-to for a long time has been the Logitech G915 Lightspeed so it will be interesting to see how this new line-up from Razer will compare.

On the Full-size, we see

  • the usual multi-function roller,
  • media controls across the top to play/pause and skip your music,
  • Macro buttons that you can configure in Synapse
  • a HyperSpeed mode button to set it to connect to the included USB dongle
  • a Bluetooth button to flick it over to a BT connection
  • a new Ai Prompt Master button we’ve seen on Razer’s latest mice (The Pro Click V2 series, and their latest Cobra HyperSpeed)
  • A hybrid Battery/Status button to check the battery level, toggle Power Saving mode, and notify when you’ve forgotten to charge it for a while

The Tenkeyless version removes the Macro buttons, dedicated HyperSpeed and Bluetooth buttons (Instead moving these to a FN + 1/2/3 on-keyboard macro), and combines the dedicated Play/Pause/Skip keys into a Multi-function Media button

Seemingly an upgrade to the DeathStalker product line, these new BlackWidow low-profiles feature Razer’s popular Green/Orange/Yellow switches now in the slimmer format. Razer says these switches will deliver the same satisfying keystroke in a sleeker and more ergonomic design. Combined with the ultra-low 18.50mm front height and lack of wrist rest, should provide a reasonably comfortable typing experience on the aluminium chassis.

Depending on your connectivity and RGB preferences, Razer boast up to a 980 hour battery life in Power Saving mode.

β€œThe Razer BlackWidow has been a staple in gaming setups for 15 years. As one of the most iconic and recognizable keyboards in the industry, it has consistently set the benchmark for performance and immersion,” said Barrie Ooi, Head of Razer’s PC Gaming Division. β€œWith the BlackWidow V4 Low-profile line, we’re introducing a new form factor that meets the evolving needs of gamers, while staying true to the immersive experience that defines the BlackWidow legacy.”

The full-size BlackWidow V4 Low-profile HyperSpeed retails at $359.95 AUD, $409.95 NZD, or $199.99 USD and available from Razer.com, RazerStores, Amazon, and select retailers worldwide.

The tenkleyess slightly less at $299.95 AUD, $349.95 NZD, or $169.99 USD. Also available from Razer.com, RazerStores, Amazon, and select retailers worldwide.

For the longest typing and gaming sessions, the overall design for comfort, connectivity, and battery life puts this as a solid contender in the low-profile keyboard category.
